Max was presumably purchased as a puppy by a family who didn’t invest a time in researching Weimaraners. After spending two years living in the backyard, Max was brought in to the Downey shelter. The official reason: “Son was going away to college and no one else in the family wanted him.”
After spending a couple of days in the slammer, CalWEAR busted him out and he’s now in foster care.
So far, we know that Max is young, energetic, exuberant, yet sweet, kind, and friendly with others. We have not seen him interact with children, but he has been good with other dogs, regardless of size.
Since Max lived his entire life as an outside dog, we’re not convinced he’s housebroken. The good news is, he doesn’t mind being crated, so perhaps his future family won’t have that difficult of a time getting him potty trained.
